This section displays the list of all processes running on the system.
Process Grid
The grid contains the following columns:

In addition, processes will take the following colors according to their type:
Service Process: Dark Blue
User & System Process: Black
Known Process: Green
Known processes
You can define a process as a known process. This feature id only used to differentiate visually processes already encountered (and whose origin is known) of a new process that can be potentially spyware, Trojans and other viruses.
Toolbar
Show File: Display in Windows File Explorer (explorer.exe) the source file of the selected processes.
Close Main Window: If the process is window based, this command tries to close its main window (if it exists).
Kill Process: Kill all selected processes except for the system and the idle process. Warning: killing system process may (and will) result in system crash with possible data loss.
Set as Known Process: mark the selected processes as known processes.
Set as Unknown Process: mark the selected processes as unknown processes.
Kill all unknown processes: Kill all processes not marked as known processes. Warning, please use carefully this feature or it may (and will) result in system crash with possible data loss.
Show Dependency: Open a window showing all libraries loaded by the processes.
Show Handles: Open a window showing all handles created by the process
Show threads: Open a window showing all process' threads.
Set Process Affinity: Open a window where you can change the preferred processor affinity for the process.
Find Window: open a window with tools for controlling all visible windows.
Find Open File: search for file open (and blocked) by a process.
Dependency window
This window display all library and others dependency loaded by the process. The following information is shown:

This window isn't updated, to update the dependencies of a process, you must open a new window.
Handles window
This window display all handles created by the process. A handle is a resource descriptor of the Microsoft operating system.

Threads window
This window displays the threads of the process.

Process Affinity Window
This window allows you to select on which processor you want to run on. A checkbox per processor is displayed; it represents the processor on which the process threads will run. At least one checkbox must be checked. If you want to let Windows manage the affinity, leave all checkboxes checked.
This feature can support up to 32 processors.
Window's property window
This window allows you to select a visible window and to extract information from it. To select a window, do a drag'n drop from the magnifying glass to the desired window. To help you identify a window, its edge is colorful as the mouse is on top during the mouse dragging.
Then this window allows you to see selected window styles and extended styles, to send it some simple commands and to retrieve its source process.
Open file search window
Often, under Windows environment, it happens that you can't delete or write into a file because it is locked by another process which has opened it. This tool allows you to search a file open by processes. You can then kill the process to unlock the file.
A service is a program without user interface, usually executed under the user context LocalSystem or LocalService.
This window displays all services available from your user account.
This window shows the active, inactive and deactivated services.
Service Grid
The grid contains the following columns:

In addition of the preceding values, the service can be "interactive", this means that it can interact with the user.

Toolbar
Dependencies: Opens a window showing all libraries loaded by the service's processes. Only for actives services.
Show File: Display in Windows File Explorer (explorer.exe) the source file of the selected service process.
Show Process: Show the process list and select the service's process for services selected in services list.
Restart: Try to restart service.
Start: Try to start a service
Pause: try to interrupt a service
Stop: try to stop a service
Refresh: Manually refresh the service list
Notification form
A notification form appears each time a new process is run. This allows you to monitor processes in order to detect possible spyware.
Clicking the notification form will show you the process list and will select the corresponding process.
Options are:
Enabled: Enable or not the notification forms.
Don't show for known process: Deactive the notification forms for the known processes.
Show time: Determine how long the window will be visible.
Windows Startup
This section allows you to start Process Manager 2 Lite automatically when Windows start.
Options are:
Start with Windows: Enable Process Manager 2 lite to start with Windows.
Silent Start: Allows a silent start of Process Manager 2 Lite (without splash and window appear minimized in Windows System Tray). This option is valid only if Start with Windows is checked.
Startup processes
This section display all the starting processes, i.e all the processes which will be runned automatically by Windows when it startup. They can be removed by selecting them and then using the Delete Selected button.
Windows Integration
The option Replace original task manager allows you to integrate Process Manager 2 Lite in Windows by replacing the original task manager (taskmgr.exe).
Refresh Intervals
This section allows you to personalize the refresh intervals for the process list, the service list and the Process detection rate.
